Interesting parallel - when Stephan was addressing his persecutors (yesterday's reading, pg 66), one of whom was Paul, he used the history of God and Israel to deliver his message about their need for the Savior. Paul follows this example as he addresses Jews and Gentiles in the synagogue (pg 76), using the history of Israel and ancient scripture to invite all people (not just Jews) to believe the Good News. "Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses." (77)
